Meet Daniel’s Wedding Party

March 14, 2009 · 1 Comment

Ben Tuttle – One of my best friends in the whole world. We were in high school, a band, an apartment, and many adventures together.

Eric Geels – Currently in Russia, Mr. Geels is fun for the whole family.

McKay Johnson – My youngest brother. He’s pretty cool, but don’t tell him that, it will go straight to his head which is already big enough!

Jake Mallory – Met him on my European adventure few years back.  He is awesome and will kick your butt in almost any debate.

Meet Kaitlyn’s Wedding Party!

March 14, 2009 · 3 Comments

OK, so I promised it was coming soon…. so ladies and gentlemen, meet my wedding party!

Jackie Johnson – She’s letting me marry her brother. Nuff said. And she’s freakin adorable and sweet as heck.

Karen Plymale – The cheese to my macaroni. She’s my best friend in the Air Force. We’ll have to keep her away from the candles.

Tiffani Garcia – my best girl in Texas. She and I are attached at the hip whenever I’m in town. I love this girl to death. And she’s the best hairstylist ever.

And last, but not least…. my maid of honor choice is a wee bit unconventional. That’s because my maid of honor is a boy.

TJ Mundell has been my best friend in the whole world since I was 16. We have had so many incredible memories together – we even used to be roommates – and I couldn’t think of a more perfect choice for my man of honor.

Daniel will be posting his wedding party soon.

So there you have it :-)

So much can happen in so little time….

March 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Good morning everyone! I knew I had to put in an update before I went to go help my grandparents move this weekend.

Well, the title says it all…. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED! For starters, we have booked the White Chapel Estate and Gardens for the wedding on 9-11-09. We couldn’t be more excited. My mom and I met with two caterers this week, and we’ll be going with the in-house caterer, who gave us a lot of food for a really really good deal. I’ve talked with my bridesmaids and we’ve got the dresses for them picked. We are thisclose to announcing the wedding party on here, I promise! And last…. but oh, certainly not least…… I bought the dress last night. It’s fantastic :-)

Things are really coming together while I’m here. Next week I have a meeting with a florist whose work I saw online and I really admire, and then I have a meeting with the Chapel to talk about how everything is going to look – I promise you all will love it.

I’m in Dallas until Thursday and then I go to South Carolina and then Daniel will be joining me! I miss him like crazy, but I know he’s doing amazing things as he finishes up school. I’m so proud of him.

More to come soon, I promise! I love updating this thing!

Love to all,

Kaitlyn

Saving the Date

February 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Probably one of the biggest questions on everyone’s mind — when is the wedding? We hadn’t set a date because we didn’t know when we were deployable, and obviously planning a wedding and then finding out that “oh hey, you leave on Someday to go to Whereverville” would conflict with that. For this reason we hadn’t chosen a solid date.

Until now.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with September 11th.

Yes, it seems like an unusual choice for a wedding date, but it fits. We have a history of choosing significant (or “weird” as my mom says) dates: We officially started dating Christmas Day, became engaged on February 14th… getting married September 11th. Here’s why I like this day:

-I’ll never forget my anniversary

-Hopefully everyone will remember that day for something good now too

-I’m just weird like that

We were finally able to set a date because a Tech Sergeant called the Chief at 1st Combat Camera and tried to find out for me when we could be deployable/TDY-eligible. It’s six months to a year out for us. September is the sixth month, so we’re clear. Woot!

Save the Date.

Heyyy everybody!

February 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

So wedding stuff is about to kick into high gear… I head back to Texas on Saturday and for the next 2 weeks it’s gonna be nothing but wedding planning! I’m excited! Hopefully we will have a venue finalized while I’m there – I have a few appointments to look at a few places. I’ll also be shopping for a dress (and I will be accompanied by my best friends and my mother so you know it’s gonna be pretty!). We are making decisions on a few little things – music, drinks, etc. It’s starting to come together! We can’t wait until fall! The wedding party should be finalized pretty soon, and we’re also tackling the issue of the cake. I know I speak for Daniel when I say we are getting so excited and we can’t wait to get married!

Love to everyone,

Kaitlyn

Update On Plans

February 19, 2009 · 1 Comment

Hi Everyone! Well, we’ve started to tackle the two biggest parts of the wedding – the date and the guest list. The first draft of the guest list is almost complete…. and we’re realizing just how big our families are :-P Now, as for the date, we have 3 dates set so far…. the only thing holding us back from setting a firm date is the fact that we don’t really know when the Air Force can start deploying us. I should find out in a few weeks when I get to Charleston. Then we will definitely let you know! Thanks for all the comments and well wishes…. we are so excited about everything and we can’t wait to share our special day with you.

Love,

Kaitlyn

Plans…

February 17, 2009 · 1 Comment

We’ve decided to have the wedding in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Traditionally the wedding is in the bride’s hometown, and besides that it just makes the most sense as far as a central location goes for bringing our friends and family together. Kaitlyn’s family is there, most of Daniel’s family is only two states away, and there are two major airports in Dallas, which there should be NO excuses for not coming out!

Plans So Far…

February 16, 2009 · 2 Comments

As of February 16th:

The engagement and wedding planning is still in the beginning stages…. after all, we did get engaged only two days ago! But we do have a general idea of when we want the wedding to take place – we are hoping for October or November.

We’ve also decided on the colors for the wedding – black, white, and bright pink.

We agreed on the bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsmen’s suits.

Kaitlyn is just about ready to pick her wedding party.

Yes, Daniel is actually helping plan. :)
